The January transfer window is in full swing as the first 7 days of the window have not disappointed- yet there have been some unexpected moves for some players.
Here’s the main summary of the main deals (and the main rumours)
Lorenzo Insigne
In one of the more unexpected moves in the transfer window, Lorenzo Insigne has made a switch over the continent, moving from his beloved Napoli to Toronto FC in the MLS.
The 30-year-old Italian, who has spent 10 years at Napoli (3 on loan from Napoli, 7 playing for the club), has amassed 319 appearances and scored 89 goals, has become the highest-paid MLS player of all time.
He will spend 6 more months at Napoli, then move to the Canadian-based club in the summer, as a free agent.
Kieran Trippier
Kieran Trippier, who has constantly been linked with a move away from Atletico Madrid since the start of his stint, has moved back to England- but not to the club you would have expected.
He was linked to Manchester United or a return to Tottenham Hotspur but has now signed for the richest club in the world, and is the first signing of their project of getting back to title contenders, but for now trying to survive relegation.
His medical has been completed and all the Geordie’s need to wait for is the official announcement from the club.
